Anatomy of a wound
Solid 18kt gold, hand-forged and brought to a satin Aureum finish. A deep fracture splits the relic, revealing five small blue sapphires in brilliant cut, the depth that held when the surfaces couldn't.

Aureum is the same chiaroscuro cast in gold: light does not slip away, it lingers like a warm glow rising from the dark. Caravaggio's tension between light and shadow, in metal.
Stones
Natural blue sapphires · brilliant cut · ~0.15ct
A natural sapphire, night blue. Corundum, second only to diamond for hardness, with a blue that changes with the light it is given: ink under a lamp, almost violet in daylight. Silk and colour banding inside are the marks of a stone the earth grew.
Each stone is set by hand and matched by eye across the piece. Parcels are small and never identical, so tone is confirmed per order.
Each stone is selected by hand and set individually. Slight variations in quantity or placement may occur from one piece to the next, every setting is shaped by the artisan to honour the unique character of the casting.
