The first thing of BROKEN HEARTS you hold in your hands, before the piece. Full grain means the hide keeps its whole surface: it is not sanded or corrected, so no two carry the same marks. It closes with a leather tie wrapped around it.

The making
Before it is gold, it is wax.
KLUSTER AUREUM ABYSSUS does not exist yet. It is born after your order: cast in lost wax, finished and set by hand, in Italy.
Real photographs from the bench where BROKEN HEARTS pieces are made. The metal you see is 925 silver: gold goes through the same steps.

The wax
Every form begins in wax, carved by hand: the saw and the burr take away what is not needed.

The wax burns out of the plaster at 720 degrees. The 18kt gold melts in the crucible and is poured into the void it leaves.

Out of the casting comes a raw piece. It is rolled, cleaned, soldered by flame.

Files and paper, from 220 to 1200 grit, then the wheel: until no tool mark catches the light.

The band is brought to its size on the mandrel, by hand.

On gold the stones can also be chosen with the founder, Anthony Henry.

The metal is opened and closed again over every stone, by hand, often under the microscope.
