LEX CENTVM

01

One hundred people a month

The Lex Centum is one number and one border: one hundred new clients a month. Not one hundred pieces, not one hundred orders. One hundred people who enter Broken Hearts for the first time.

Oil painting in the tenebrist manner: tally marks cut in fives into the worn oak doorframe of a workshop, counted by hand over years, in raking light
02

At the hundredth, the month closes

When the hundredth new client enters, the list closes and reopens with the new month. Whoever arrives after that waits for the first day of the month to come.

03

Why one hundred

Because we decided it. Not a study, not a strategy: one hundred is what these hands can take in a month without a single piece being made worse. Maybe one day we will think differently. That day is not today, it is not tomorrow, and it is not next year.

Oil painting in the tenebrist manner: two working hands at rest, palms open on the goldsmith's bench at the end of the day, the tools laid down beside them
04

Those in the Register never queue

The border is for those who arrive, not for those who have already stayed. One completed order and you are in the Register for life: the month's hundred never applies to you again.

One number, one border: one hundred people, not one hundred pieces. When a piece leaves the catalog it is REQUIEM that withdraws it, not this law.

When the month's hundred is full, the bar at the top of the site says so.

Oil painting in the tenebrist manner: a single old iron key on a leather cord hanging from a nail, its bit polished bright by long use
